CITY OF RIVEk.£DE Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council Date of Meeting: October 12, 1993 Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: Mayor Frizzel called the meeting to order at 9:15 a.m. The Invocation was given by Pastor Charles Love, Fellow Bap- tist Church. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of September 28, 1993, were ap- proved as submitted. The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Jim Erickson representing the Greater Riverside Chambers of Com- merce, James Buckley representing the University-Canyon Crest Chamber of Commerce and Wes Bush representing the Hunter Park- Northside Chamber of Commerce. PRESENTATIONS Mayor Frizzel presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Jerry DeSilva, City of Riverside Building Services Superintendent, recognizing his contributions in energy efficiency and envi- ronmental quality. Mayor Frizzel presented a Proclamation to Haydee Rider, Board President of Alternatives to Domestic Violence, proclaiming October 1993 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the City of Riverside. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item. BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS AND ZONING ADJUSTMENT ZONING CASE VR-146-889 (REVISED) - TRAMMELL CROW COMPANY - 1690-1710 IOWA A communication was presented from the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning Adjustment advising that, on September 13, 1993, the Board, by a vote of 8 ayes to 0 noes, approved sub- ject to conditions the request of Trammell Crow Company, Zon- ing Case VR-146-889 (Revised), for the following revised vari- ance to install two additional monument signs for property at 1690-1710 Iowa Avenue, situated on the southeast corner of Marlborough Street and Iowa Avenue, in Zone MP: to allow two approximately ten-square-foot, three-foot-high tenant identi- fication monument signs where no such signs are permitted. The Board's approval was upheld by the City Council.
