CITY OF RIVEk..,IDE <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />Date of Meeting: August 17, 1993 <br />Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. <br />Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Pastor Rowland from the audience. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meetings of August 10, 1993, were approved <br />as submitted. <br /> <br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Jack <br />Clarke, Jr., representing the Riverside Chamber of Commerce, <br />Scott Slatkovski representing the Downtown Chamber of Com- <br />merce, Marjorie yon Pohle representing the La Sierra Chamber <br />of Commerce and Nancy Battin representing the Magnolia Center <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Frizzel introduced Andre De Paula from Brazil, State <br />Deputy of Pernambuco's Legislative Assembly and President of <br />the Liberal Front Program of Pernambuco. <br /> <br />Mayor Frizzel and Tony Allega, Aquatics Coordinator for the <br />Park and Recreation Department, presented Certificates honor- <br />ing members of their Aquatics Section with awards for Veteran <br />Lifeguard, Rookie Lifeguard and Outstanding Pool Operation. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- <br />sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion <br />affirming the actions appropriate to each item; with Council- <br />member Thompson requesting that the report relative to release <br />of agreements regarding improvements and sureties at the <br />southwesterly corner of Indiana and La Sierra Avenues be con- <br />tinued until the weed abatement and fire hazard has been taken <br />care of. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COMMISSION <br /> <br />CASE EP-001-934 - PROPOSED GRADING PLAN - SYCAMORE CANYON NLY. <br />OF COTTONWOOD <br />A communication was presented from the Environmental Protec- <br />tion Commission advising that, on July 29, 1993, the Commis- <br />sion, by a vote of 6 ayes to 0 noes, determined that a pro- <br />posed grading plan for an approximately nine-acre industrial <br />site within Sycamore Canyon Business Park generally located <br />westerly of Sycamore Canyon Boulevard and northerly of Cotton- <br />wood Avenue will not have a significant effect on the environ- <br />ment because Mitigation Measures have been required; and rec- <br />ommended that the City Council adopt a Mitigated Negative <br />Declaration, Case EP-001-934.
