<br />It doesn't get much better than serving as the Mayor of my hometown! Life doesn't get better by chance, it gets better by change.
<br />In Riverside, we have a sense of belonging and a deep connection to our It's time to change the office of the Mayor from Cruise Director to one of
<br />community. As your Mayor and the fourth generation of my family to call action, true leadership, and integrity.
<br />Riverside home, I have always felt proud to be a r-0 rsider.
<br />Riverside is a thriving city and a safe place where we can work, attend
<br />school, raise our families and enjoy a happy and healthy life together.
<br />I'm honored to say that our city is: outpacing the national average in
<br />job growth, making huge strides toward ending veteran homelessness,
<br />increasing the use of renewable energy, and developing new transportation
<br />infrastructure.
<br />We are setting the example for other California cities! It is the path that was
<br />paved by previous community leaders as well as our own hard work that
<br />puts our city in this position.
<br />That's why I'm proud to have earned endorsements from a majority of my
<br />colleagues on the City Council as well as former Mayor Ron Loveridge.

<br />EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
<br />The lines of communication will be open inviting residents to participate
<br />in collaborative decision - making processes. Transparency will be evident
<br />as all protocol and procedures are followed. Diversity will be embraced in
<br />all dimensions from cultural diversity to a diversity of opinions. I will work
<br />for you to instill these attributes in the Office of the Mayor and City Hall.
<br />With over forty years of community volunteer experience, seven years as
<br />the director of the community -based Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful
<br />program, a small business- owner, and leadership roles in numerous
<br />non -profit organizations, I will bring a well - rounded view and fresh
<br />perspective to the Office of the Mayor. Ensuring that Riverside is the best
<br />place to live, work and play for not only this generation butfuture generations
<br />will be the foundation and goal for my service to you, the Office of the
<br />Mayor, and the region.
<br />Riverside residents deserve community building, consensus building,
<br />communication, transparency, diversity, protocol, procedures —all
<br />necessary attributes for an effective and successful city government.
<br />As the Ward 4 Councilman for the past seven years, I have fought for
<br />the people of Riverside by opening the books to city hall. I championed
<br />accountability from the top down and demanded full transparency in
<br />the operations and the expenditures of the public funds. These actions
<br />changed the status quo, broke the monopolies, and stopped the Good Old
<br />Boy attitude that hurts Riverside and separates the haves from the have
<br />nots. I believe in streamlined government and eliminating bureaucracy to
<br />better serve our residents and businesses.
<br />As your Mayor I will continue to support all efforts to protect our young
<br />families, seniors, and veterans across Riverside's diverse neighborhoods
<br />by pushing for more police and fire, affordable housing and improving
<br />public transportation. Create sustainable jobs by leveraging our cities
<br />passive assets, utilizing 30 years of financial management, business
<br />development and experience, insuring the future of our city by providing
<br />opportunities that Riverside's residents and businesses need today.

<br />EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
<br />Executive decisions made over the last ten years have been killing our
<br />quality of life and lowering our standard of living. As your new mayor,
<br />I envision the City of Riverside as an affordable and safe place to raise a
<br />family, an exciting place to start a new business and a comfortable place
<br />to retire, with plenty of enjoyable social activities for everyone. I would
<br />make sure residents voices are not only heard, but followed. With
<br />experience as a small business owner and longtime taxpayer advocate
<br />for Riverside residents, I hope to bring this vision to life.
<br />I don't believe the City's future is better served with an unaffordable trolley,
<br />unused bike lanes, ambulance monopolies, high density developments
<br />and underfunded public safety departments.
<br />As Mayor, I intend to:
<br />Stop Riverside Public Utilities from overcharging Its customers and return
<br />$200 million of slush fund monies back to the citizens.
<br />Restore fiscal responsibility to the city by eliminating the $13 million
<br />budget deficit and reducing the $2 billion debt so essential services do
<br />not have to be cut.
<br />Slow down the massive expansion of government spending, end political
<br />favors and special interest influence.
