CITY OF RIVEkSIDE <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />Date of Meeting: August 10, 1993 <br />Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. <br />Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Marjorie yon Pohle. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meeting of August 3, 1993, were approved as <br />submitted. <br /> <br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Elizabeth <br />Schreiber representing the Riverside Chamber of Commerce, Dan- <br />iel Hartman representing the Downtown Chamber of Commerce, <br />Steve Berry representing the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of <br />Commerce and Marjorie yon Pohle representing the La Sierra <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- <br />sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion <br />affirming the actions appropriate to each item. <br /> <br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />ZONING CASE CU-036-889 (REVISED) - COLE VOCATIONAL SERVICES - <br />7203 ARLINGTON <br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commis- <br />sion advising that, on July 22, 1993, the Commission, by a <br />vote of 6 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to conditions the <br />request of Cole Vocational Services, Zoning Case CU-036-889 <br />(Revised), for a revised conditional use permit to relocate <br />and expand a counseling/training center for 45 developmentally <br />disabled individuals and 14 staff within an existing business <br />park on approximately 5.63 acres of land at 7203 Arlington <br />Avenue, Suites A and B, situated on the north side of Arling- <br />ton Avenue approximately 260 feet east of Van Buren Boulevard, <br />in Zones AIR-BP; and determined that the proposal would not <br />have a significant adverse effect on the environment. The <br />Commission's approval was upheld by the City Council. <br /> <br />ZONING CASE CU-033-923 - D. SETTY KAPLAN - 5225 CANYON CREST <br />A communication was presented from the City Planning Commis- <br />sion advising that, on July 22, 1993, the Commission, by a <br />vote of 6 ayes to 0 noes, approved subject to conditions the <br />request of D. Setty Kaplan, Zoning Case CU-033-923, for a con- <br />ditional use permit to establish a vocational school on the <br />first floor of an existing approximately 12,895-square-foot <br />office building within the Canyon Crest Towne Centre located <br />at 5225 Canyon Crest Drive, situated at the southwest corner <br />of Canyon Crest and E1Cerrito Drives, in Zone C-l-A; and de- <br />termined that the proposal would not have a significant ad- <br />verse effect on the environment.
