CITY OF RIVEbIDE <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />Date of Meeting: July 6, 1993 <br />Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. <br />Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />LCDTCTP <br />OLEALHE <br />VAFVIOA <br />EREAFNR <br />RKNGFPS <br />IEBLO$O <br />D AIRON <br />G UODN <br />E GN <br /> HE <br /> <br />WARDS <br /> <br />1234567 <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Present <br /> <br />X XX X XXX <br /> <br />Mayor Frizzel called the meeting to order at 9:15 a.m. <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Marjorie yon Pohle. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meetings of June 22 and 29, 1993, were ap- <br />proved; with the exception of the June 22 appointments to the <br />Municipal Museum Board on Page 78-591, which was continued <br />until later this afternoon. <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />Ayes <br />Not Voting <br /> <br /> X <br /> X <br />X XXX <br /> <br /> X X <br />X <br /> <br />The Chair recognized the presence in the audience of Steve <br />Berry representing the Riverside Chamber of Commerce, Rob Eng- <br />leman representing the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Vindar <br />Batoosingh representing the Downtown Chamber of Commerce, Wes <br />Bush representing the Hunter Park-Northside Chamber of Com- <br />merce, Marjorie yon Pohle representing the La Sierra Chamber <br />of Commerce, Juan Santos representing the Magnolia Center <br />Chamber of Commerce and Janice Newman representing the <br />University-Canyon Crest Chmnber of Commerce. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Frizzel presented Certificates of Appreciation to Rose <br />Oliver and the Youth Expo 2000 Job Fair and Conference Commit- <br />tee in recognition of their dedication, commitment, support <br />and participation in making the Fourth Annual Job Fair held on <br />May 22, 1993, a success for City youth--ages 14-21. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CASH DONATION FROM KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, COUNCIL NO. 4793, FOR <br />FRIENDLY STARS' PROGRAMS <br />A written report was submitted from the City Manager and the <br />Park and Recreation Director, concurred in by the Assistant <br />City Manager and the Finance Director, recommending that the <br />city Council (1) accept the cash donation of $1,815.57 from <br />the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 4793, to be used for <br />Friendly Stars' programs; (2) appropriate $907.57 into Sup- <br />plies Account 101-452400-426500, and $908 into Services Ac- <br />count 101-452400-421040 for Fiscal Year 1993-94; and (3) re- <br />quest the Mayor to send a letter of appreciation to the <br />Knights of Columbus, Council No. 4793. Following a brief dis- <br />cussion, the recommendations were approved as presented. <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br /> X <br />X <br /> <br />In conjunction with the above matter, Mayor Frizzel presented <br />a Certificate of Appreciation to the Knights of Columbus, <br />Council No. 4793, for their continued support of the develop- <br />mentally disabled community. The Council donated $1,815 this <br />year to the Friendly Stars' program using the proceeds from a <br />Tootsie Roll Drive. <br /> <br />79-1 <br /> <br /> <br />
