CITY OF RIVERSIDE CITY COUNCIL Minutes of: Date of Meeting: Time of Meeting: Place of Meeting: Regular Meeting of the City Council April 20, 1999 9 a.m. Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: Mayor Loveridge called the City Council meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. The Invocation was given by Councilmember Moore. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of April 13, 1999, were approved as presented. INTRODUCTIONS Mayor Loveridge introduced C. Ing. Francisco Rodriguez, Mayor of Cuautla, Mexico, and his delegation. PRESENTATIONS Mayor Loveridge and the City Council presented this yeaFs City Spirit Award to Rose Mayes in tribute to her extraordinary deeds and community spirit which demonstrate good citizenship and dedication to enhancing the quality of life in the City. Mayor Loveridge presented an Appreciation Plaque to Dr. Jerome Wall, Director; Jim Clover, Coordinator; Todd Babcock, Research and Administration; and Jim Winn, Marketing and Administration, of the S.P.O.R.T. Clinic, in recognition of their efforts in providing a positive setting for the youth of our community to develop both physically and mentally. Mayor Loveridge presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Firefighter Dan Derenzo, Public Safety Officer for the month of April, 1999, who was honored by the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce at Good Morning Riverside. Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Bob Dyer, President of the Riverside Community Players Board of Directors, proclaiming April 17-24, 1999, as Community Theatre Week. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item; with Councilmember Clifford requesting his vote be shown as "No" on the item relative to the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program.
