CITY OF RIVEA,oIDE Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council Date of Meeting: June 18, 1996 Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: The Invocation was given by the City Manager. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of June 11, 1996, were approved as presented. Mayor Loveridge announced Councilmember Clifford was in Sacra- mento on Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) business. PRESENTATION Patrick Kudell, Executive Director of the American Lung Asso- ciation, presented Mayor Loveridge with their 1996 Clean Air Award for Leadership. Mayor Loveridge was selected to receive this award based on his long-standing support of clean indoor air legislation, as well as his position on ambient indoor air issues as a member of the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD}. CELEBRATING RIVERSIDE Mayor Loveridge called on Councilmember Beaty, Ward 1, who in- troduced Ken Casford, President of the Riverside Live Steam- ers, and presented Mr. Casford and several members of the Live Steamers with a Certificate of Appreciation and City pins in honor of the organization's 30-year anniversary. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City council on the Con- sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item; with the ex- ception of the referral to Committee of the discussion of a Housing Manager which was removed from the agenda; and with Councilmember Defenbaugh requesting her vote be shown as "No" on the periodicals and dues portion of the Non-Departmental Budget. PLANNING DEPARTMENT ZONING CASE RZ-013-934 - 6947-7007 INDIANA - TIME EXTENSION The City Council approved the request of A.C. Nejedly for a one-year time extension to rezone approximately 1.6 acres de- veloped with a single-family residence at 6947-7007 Indiana Avenue, situated on the northwest side of Indiana Avenue about 240 feet southwesterly of Brockton Avenue (Mary Street) from Zones RO-S-2-X and R-1-65 to Zones C-2-S-2-X, subject to the following conditions: (1) All applicable previously approved conditions shall remain in effect; and (2) The new expiration date shall be July 26, 1997.
