CITY OF RIVE~. <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />Date of Meeting: June 11, 1996 <br />Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. <br />Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Councilmember Thompson. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meeting of June 4, 1996, were approved as <br />presented. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- <br />sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion <br />affirming the actions appropriate to each item. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />ZONING CASE VR-082-956 - 5982 VIA LOMA <br />The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission <br />in approving subject to conditions the request of Christian <br />Bergum for the following minor variance to construct a two- <br />story single-family residence at 5982 Via Loma, situated on <br />the east side of Via Loma north of Ransom Road, in Zone RC: <br />to allow a two-story single-family dwelling with a maximum <br />overall height of approximately 25 feet where a maximum one- <br />story 20-foot-high dwelling is permitted; upheld the Commis- <br />sion's determination that the proposal would not have a <br />significant effect on the environment; and concurred in the <br />adoption of a Negative Declaration. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />BID 5382 - INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS BROCKTON & TEQUESQUITE <br />The City Council (1) awarded Bid 5382 to J.E.G. Construction <br />Company, Inc., in the amount of $74,000, for intersection im- <br />provements at Brockton and Tequesquite Avenues; and (2) autho- <br />rized the City Manager or his designee to execute the con- <br />tract. <br /> <br />BID 5396 REJECTION - SWIMMING POOL PLASTER & TILE REPLACEMENT <br />The City Council (1) rejected all bids received for Bid 5396 <br />relative to the replacement of plaster and tile at the Reid <br />Park and Villegas Park swimming pools; and (2) authorized <br />staff to prepare the bid documents and rebid the project. <br /> <br />ARLINGTON AVENUE UNDERPASS PROJECT <br />The City Council (1) awarded a contract for appraisal services <br />for the Arlington Avenue Underpass Project between McMahon <br />Street and Indiana Avenue to Gary L.
