MINUTES The Minutes Of the Meetings of May 28, 1996, were approved as presented. PRESENTATION Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Erik Mandler, Man- aging Director of Goodhew Medical Services, proclaiming the week of May 19-25 as Emergency Medical Services Week. CELEBRATING RIVERSIDE Councilmember Moore, Ward 2, presented a Certificate of Appre- ciation to Jeanie Williams, Community Center Coordinator, Stratton Community Center, Bordwell Park, as the recent recip- ient of the Greater Riverside Area Urban League's Jack B. Clarke, Sr., The Quality of Life Award. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item. CITY MANAGER BID 5386 - PARKWAYS MAINTENANCE The City Council (1) awarded Bid 5386 to Mentone Turf Supply, in the amount of $93,181.92, for the annual maintenance of parkways at various locations primarily throughout the Ar- lington, La Sierra and Airport areas, for the period July 1, 1996, through June 30, 1997; (2) authorized the Park and Recreation Director to issue change orders up to 50 per- cent of the base contract price for additional expenses such as vandalism repair to sprinkler systems and other related work as needed throughout the fiscal year; and (3) authorized the City Manager or his designee to execute the appropriate contract documents.
