Mayor Love- <br />ridge presented City pins and a Proclamation to the delegation <br />proclaiming our Friendship City relationship. The delegates <br />from Jiangmen read a letter from their Mayor and presented <br />books depicting their City and University to Mayor Loveridge <br />and the City Council. <br />CELEBRATING RIVERSIDE <br />Councilmember Thompson presented a Certificate of Appreciation <br />to 12 -year-old Oscar Pleitez, a Seventh Grader at Wells Inter- <br />mediate School, in recognition of his winning the Riverside <br />County Spelling Bee Championship for two consecutive years. <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meetings of April 9, 1996, were approved as <br />Motion <br />X <br />presented. <br />Second <br />X <br />All Ayes <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- <br />sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion <br />affirming the actions appropriate to each item; with Council - <br />member Clifford requesting his vote be shown as "No" on the <br />Motion <br />X <br />adoption of Ordinance No. 6282, Case AM -001-956, Sale of Alco- <br />Second <br />X <br />holic Beverages. <br />All Ayes <br />BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS AND ZONING ADJUSTMENT <br />ZONING CASE VR -047-912 - 3690 RIVERSIDE PLAZA <br />The City Council upheld the action of the Board of Administra- <br />tive Appeals and Zoning Adjustment in approving subject to <br />conditions the request of Riverside Plaza to modify a condi- <br />tion of approval to allow an approximately 38 -square -foot, <br />5.5 -foot -high monument sign identifying Sav-On Drugs and Trad- <br />er Joe's to be located on Merrill Avenue in substitution of an <br />81-345 <br />
