CITY OF RIV~_,3IDE <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />Date of Meeting: April 9, 1996 <br />Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. <br />Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge called the City Council meeting to order at <br />9:25 a.m., following completion of the Adjourned Regular Meet- <br />ing. <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Councilmember Thompson. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meeting of April 2, 1996, were approved as <br />presented. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Project RAD (Riv- <br />erside Against Drugs) Coordinators Murray Schiller, Alvord <br />Unified School District, and Tom Schultz, Riverside Unified <br />School District, for supporting community and parent action <br />against alcohol and tobacco sales to minors. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Carmen Nieves, <br />Emergency Services Coordinator, proclaiming the month of April <br />as Earthquake Preparedness Month in the City of Riverside; and <br />the Mayor and Councilmembers expressed their appreciation for <br />Ms. Nieves' work in the field of disaster preparedness. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- <br />sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion <br />affirming the actions appropriate to each item. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />ZONING CASE CU-033-956 ALESSANDRO/MISSION GROVE PLAZA SOUTH <br />The City Council upheld the Planning Commission's action in <br />approving subject to conditions the request of Texaco Refining <br />& Marketing for a conditional use permit to establish a gas <br />station with a food mart including two fast food restaurants, <br />a drive-through lane and beer and wine sales on approximately <br />1.27 vacant acres at the southeast corner of Alessandro Boule- <br />vard and Mission Grove Plaza South within the Alessandro <br />Heights Specific Plan area, in Zones C-2-SP; upheld the Com- <br />mission's determination that the proposal would not have a <br />significant adverse effect on the environment; and concurred <br />in the adoption of the Negative Declaration. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />BID 5322 - SYCAMORE CANYON BOULEVARD REALIGNMENT <br />The City Council (1) approved the First Amendment to Agreement <br />Regarding Proposed Realignment of Sycamore Canyon Boulevard <br /> <br /> WARDS <br /> <br />Present <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> <br />B M D K C T P <br />E 0 E A L H E <br />A 0 F N I 0 A <br />T R E E F M R <br />Y E N F P S <br /> B 0 S 0 <br /> A R 0 N <br /> U D N <br /> G <br /> H <br /> <br />1 2 3 4 5 6 7 <br /> <br />X XXXXXX <br /> <br /> X <br />X <br /> <br /> X <br />X <br /> <br />81-334 <br /> <br /> <br />
