CITY OF RIVE, ~IDE <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />Date of Meeting: March 26, 1996 <br />Time of Meeting: 2 P.M. <br />Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge called the meeting to order at 3 p.m. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced Riverside County Supervisors John Tavag- <br />lione and Tom Mullen, who briefed the Mayor and City Council <br />on the County-wide Youth Summit to be held May 9 and 10, 1996, <br />at Marriott's Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage. <br /> <br />PARKING, INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AU- <br />THORITIES <br />The City Council recessed for the purpose of sitting as the <br />Parking Authority, the Industrial Development Authority and <br />the Economic Development Authority. <br /> <br />There being no business to be conducted, the meetings were ad- <br />journed; and the body reconvened as the City Council. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS AT 3 P.M. <br /> <br />ZONING CASE VR-060-956 - APPEAL - 136 ACACIA GLEN - CONTINUED <br />3 P.M.--Hearing was called on the appeal of A1 Perryman from <br />the decision of the Board of Administrative Appeals and Zoning <br />Adjustment in denying his request for the following minor var- <br />iance to legalize an existing solid wall within the front set- <br />back at 136 Acacia Glen Drive, situated southwesterly of Mis- <br />sion Grove Parkway North and easterly of Alessandro Boulevard, <br />in Zone R-1-100: to allow a solid wall up to six feet in <br />height to encroach up to' 25 feet into the required 25-foot <br />front setback. At the request of the appellant, the hearing <br />was continued to April 9, 1996, at 2 p.m. <br /> <br />CASE A~4-004-912 - HOME OCCUPATIONS & TELECOMbTgTING - ORDINAi~CE <br />INTRODUCTION <br />3 P.M.--Hearing was called on the proposal of the City of Riv- <br />erside to amend Title 19 (Zoning) of the Riverside Municipal <br />Code to permit home occupations and telecommuting in all resi- <br />dential zones except Zones RC and P~A-5. Many interested peo- <br />ple were present to express their views on various provisions <br />of this proposed ordinance, mostly with regard to retail sales <br />from homes, including the sale of firearms. Written communi- <br />cations were also presented and considered.
