CITY OF RIVE ~IDE <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />Date of Meeting: March 19, 1996 <br />Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. <br />Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m. <br /> <br />JOINT CLOSED SESSION WITH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br />The Mayor and Councilmembers recessed to the Council Chamber <br />Board Room for a joint closed session with the Redevelopment <br />Agency pursuant to Government Code ~54956.9 to confer with <br />and/or receive advice from legal counsel concerning one case <br />of anticipated litigation. <br /> <br />RECESS <br />Following completion of the joint closed session at 8:15 a.m., <br />the City Council recessed and reconvened at 9 a.m. <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Councilmember Moore. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />Councilmember Thompson commented on the passing of William <br />Frolich and requested that the flag be flown at half mast in <br />his memory. The Mayor and City Council observed a moment of <br />silence in memory of Mr. Frolich. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meeting of March 12, 1996, were approved as <br />presented. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Rebecca Jo James, <br />WalkAmerica representative for the March of Dimes, proclaiming <br />April 1996 as "WalkAmerica Month" and April 27 as "WalkAmer- <br />ica/Team Walk Day" in the City of Riverside. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge called upon Karen Rush, Audrey Wilson and <br />Dieter Wirtzfeld, City United Way Campaign Coordinators, who <br />assisted in presenting the United Way awards to City depart- <br />ments and recognized the department coordinators. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- <br />sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion <br />affirming the actions appropriate to each item; with the ex- <br />ception of the report relating to the purchase of a Fire safe- <br />ty house (trailer) which was removed from the agenda.
