CITY OF RIV~ 3IDE Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council Date of Meeting: March 12, 1996 Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: Mayor Loveridge called the City Council meeting to order at 9:05 a.m., following completion of the Adjourned Regular Meet- ing. The Invocation was given by the City Manager. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meeting of March 5, 1996, were approved as presented. PRESENTATIONS Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Gerald Cole, A.I.A., of Cole & Frick Architects, proclaiming March 11-17, 1996, as "Architecture Week" in the City of Riverside. Mayor Loveridge accepted contributions of $500 from River- side/Moreno Valley Area Association of Realtors and $513 from Chevron U.S.A. Products Company for Neighborhood Pride yard signs; and the City Council (1) accepted the contributions to be recorded in Estimated Revenue from Other Organizations Ac- count 101-0-339000; and (2) appropriated the same to Neighbor- hood Pride Sign Account 101-101000-450331. The City Manager was requested to report back to the City Council in 30 days with a sample of the Neighborhood Pride yard signs and rules for the placement of the signs. RESET PROGRAM The Human Resources Director updated the Mayor and City Coun- cil on the Riverside Employment Service Education and Training Program (RESET), a one-year program to prepare young adults to seek job opportunities in the community. The fifteen partici- pants enrolled in this program were introduced and an overview of their job duties was presented orally and through a slide presentation of job sites. Following discussion, the City Council received and ordered filed the report on the status of RESET. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item; with Council- member Clifford requesting his vote be shown as "No" on the HOPWA portion of the 1995-96 HUD Consolidated Plan.
