CITY OF RIVE.~IDE Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council Date of Meeting: March 5, 1996 Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: Mayor Loveridge called the City Council meeting to order at 9:20 a.m., following completion of the Redevelopment Agency meeting. The Invocation was given by Councilmember Thompson. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of February 22 and 27, 1996, were approved as presented. PRESENTATIONS Mayor Loveridge proclaimed March 1996 as "Red Cross Month" in the City of Riverside, and announced the Proclamation will be forwarded to the American Red Cross. Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Terry Nielsen, Park and Recreation Director, and Dave Roger, Urban Forester, proclaiming Saturday, March 16, as "Arbor Day" in the City of Riverside. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item; with Council- member Defenbaugh requesting her vote be shown as "No" on the adoption of Ordinance No. 6269, Annexation No. 84--Jobe/Gless, Van Buren Boulevard East of Barton Street. CITY MANAGER WATER PIPELINE EASEMENT RIGHTS TO SAWPA The City Council (1) approved the grant of the necessary ease- ment rights to the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAW- PA) for the construction of their pipelines in the locations described in the written staff report; and (2) authorized the City Manager or his designee to execute all documents neces- sary to complete the transaction. CESAR E. CHAVEZ COMMUNITY CENTER - SHARED HOUSING, VOLUNTEER CENTER The City Council (1) approved the termination of the Lease Agreement with Shared Housing, A Riverside Experience, Inc., for the lease of Room 103 at Cesar E. Chavez Community Center and the amending of the Lease Agreement with the Volunteer Center of Greater Riverside to add Room 103 to its lease; and (2) authorized the City Manager or his designee to execute the Mutual Termination Agreement with Shared Housing and the First Amendment to Lease Agreement with the Volunteer Center.
