CITY OF RIVL ~IDE <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />Date of Meeting: February 27, 1996 <br />Time of Meeting: 2 P.M. <br />Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSIONS <br />The Mayor and Councilmembers recessed to the Council Chamber <br />Board Room for closed sessions pursuant to (1) Government Code <br />§54956.9 to confer with and/or receive advice from legal coun- <br />sel concerning two cases of anticipated litigation; (2) Gov- <br />ernment Code §54957.6 to review the City Council's position <br />and instruct representatives regarding labor relations with <br />the Public Employees Association of Riverside County (PERC); <br />and (3) Government Code §54957 to consider the appointment/em- <br />ployment position of City Clerk. <br /> <br />The Mayor and Councilmembers returned to the Council Chamber <br />at 3 p.m. <br /> <br />PARKING, INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AU- <br />THORITIES <br />The City Council recessed for the purpose of sitting as the <br />Parking Authority, the Industrial Development Authority and <br />the Economic Development Authority. <br /> <br />There being no business to be conducted, the meetings were <br />adjourned; and the body reconvened as the City Council. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS AT 3 P.M. <br /> <br />CASE HD-001-956 APPEAL - 4220 LEMON STREET - CONTINUED <br />3 P.M.--Further hearing was called on the appeal of David H. <br />Slaughter, Real Property Manager, County of Riverside General <br />Services Agency, Building Services, relative to the proposal <br />of the Cultural Heritage Board to designate the Benjamin Rock- <br />hold Family House located at 4220 Lemon Street (APN 215-321- <br />001) as a City landmark. Following discussion, the City Coun- <br />cil continued the matter for ninety days to allow staff to <br />complete negotiations with the County of Riverside. <br /> <br />ZONING CASE VR-052-956 6929 ROYAL HUNT RIDGE - APPEAL - RES. <br />3 P.M.--Hearing was called on the appeal of Neil C. Hansen <br />from the decision of the Board of Administrative Appeals and <br />Zoning Adjustment in denying, in part, his request for the <br />following minor variances to construct a 6,495-square-foot <br />two-story residence at 6929 Royal Hunt Ridge Drive, situated <br />northerly of Overlook Parkway, in Zones R-t-130 and RC: (A) to <br />encroach up to ten feet into the required 20-foot side yard <br />setback of Zone R-1-130; and (B) to allow a two-story, maximum <br />30-foot-high residence where a single-story, maximum 20-foot- <br />high residence is permitted in Zone RC. The Planning Commis- <br />sion denied Variance (B). Mr. Hansen spoke in support of his <br />appeal and agreed to reduce the side yard setback encroachment <br />to three feet which would result in a 17-foot side yard set- <br />back. No protests, written or oral, were presented.
