MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of January 9, 1996, were approved as presented. CELEBRATING RIVERSIDE Councilmember Moore recognized Eugene Marks for his volunteer services in Ward 2. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item; with Council- members Clifford, Thompson and Pearson requesting their vote be shown as "No" on ordinance introduction adopting the 1994 Edition of the Uniform Fire Code and amendments and Council- members Clifford and Pearson requesting their vote be shown as "No" on the adoption of an ordinance amending Chapter 16.08 of the Municipal Code regarding the 1994 Uniform Building Code. PLANNING COMMISSION ZONING CASE CU-001-956 3310 CENTR3~L The City Council upheld the Planning Commission's action in approving subject to conditions the request of Nextel Communi- cations for a conditional use permit to establish a cellular telecommunications facility consisting of an approximately 75- square-foot unattended equipment building and a 97-foot-high monopole with 15 directional cellular antennas on an approxi- mately 34.8-acre parcel developed as a cemetery at 3310 Central Avenue, situated on the south side of Central Avenue east of the Riverside (91) Freeway, in Zone R-1-80; upheld the Commission's determination that the proposal would not have a significant adverse effect on the environment; and concurred in the adoption of the Negative Declaration.
