CITY OF RIVl IDE Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council Date of Meeting: September 17, 1996 Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: Mayor Loveridge announced that Councilmembers Moore and Defenbaugh are out of town on City-related business and Councilmember Pearson was called for jury duty. The Invocation was given by Councilmember Thompson. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of September 10, 1996, were ap- proved as presented. PRESENTATIONS Mayor Loveridge presented Certificates of Appreciation to Dr. Ronald Ellis, President, California Baptist College, and Don Hargess, Director of World Changers, for their coordina- tion and efforts in facilitating work projects throughout the City of Riverside. Councilmember Clifford will present the Certificate of Appreciation to Carol McDoniel of Magnolia Ave- nue Baptist Church. Mayor Loveridge presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Firefighter Richard Grefe, Public Safety Officer for the month of September, who was honored by the Greater Riverside Cham- bers of Commerce at Good Morning Riverside. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item, with Council- member Kane disqualifying herself from participating in the matter of Case VC-008-912 due to a possible conflict of inter- est. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COMMISSION CASE EP-001-967 11072 HOLE The City Council upheld the action of the Environmental Pro- tection Commission in determining that the proposal of the City to acquire an approximately 7,500-square-foot parcel and associated structures located at 11072 Hole Avenue adjacent to Riverside Fire Station No. 8, generally situated on the south side of Hole Avenue, east of La Sierra Avenue, in Zone C-3, would not have a significant effect on the environment; and concurred in the adoption of a Negative Declaration.
