CITY OF RIVt ,IDE Minutes of Regular Meeting of the City Council Date of Meeting: August 13, 1996 Time of Meeting: 9 A.M. Place of Meeting: Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: Mayor Loveridge called the City Council meeting to order at 9:20 a.m. following the Redevelopment Agency Meeting. The Invocation was given by the City Manager. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. Mayor Loveridge read a press release relative to broadcasting of City Council meetings on cable television beginning with this meeting for a three month trial period. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of July 22 and 23, 1996, were ap- proved as presented. PRESENTATIONS Mayor Loveridge called on Josefina Canchola, Chairperson for the Youth Education and Motivation Program (YEMP), who pre- sented Fire Chief Mike Vonada with an award for his depart- ment's exemplary participation, dedication and leadership in the YEMP program. Mayor Loveridge administered the Oath of Office to Captain Mike Esparza as a member of the State Board of Fire Services. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Con- sent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item. PLANNING COMMISSION ZONING CASE RZ-005-934 RETROACTIVE TIME EXTENSION The City Council approved the request of J.F. Davidson Associ- ates, on behalf of Regional Properties, for a retroactive time extension in which to complete the conditions of approval relative to the proposed rezoning from Zone MP to Zone R-1-65 of approximately 65 acres located about 550 feet south of Alessandro Boulevard and west of Barton Street, subject to the following conditions: (1) All applicable previously approved conditions shall remain in effect; and (2) The new expiration date shall be April 12, 1997. The existing Zone SP will con- tinue to apply to this property.
