City of Riverside, et <br />al. <br /> <br />The Mayor and Councilmembers returned to the Council Chamber with all Members <br />present except Councilmembers Thompson and Pearson. <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Councilmember Clifford. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meetings of January 26, 1999, were approved as presented; with <br />a correction to Page 84-206, Zoning Cases CU-009-978 and CU-012-978, indicating <br />the substitute motion was made by Councilmember Kane. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br />Mayor Loveridge called on Human Resources Director Judith Griffith who assisted in <br />welcoming Ned Hockings, Career to Work Counselor, and 15 students from <br />Arlington High School to government offices in honor of General Colin Powell's <br />Groundhog Job Shadow Day Program. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for <br />consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each <br />item. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br />ZONING CASE CU-046-945 (REVISED) - 1201 UNIVERSITY <br />The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving subject <br />to conditions the request of Michael L. Keele, representing Southland Land <br />Corporation for a revised conditional use permit for Phase II of the University Village <br />project establishing an additional 71,904 square feet of retail space, 16,403 square <br />feet of office space, a 37,043-square-foot health club, and a 768~car parking garage. <br />Also conceptually reviewed was the potential for additional phases of this project to <br />include 163,977 square feet of.ffice space in two, multi-story buildings; however, no <br />specific approval was given for these buildings.
