CITY OF RIVERSIDE CITY COUNCIL Minutes of: Date of Meeting: Time of Meeting: Place of Meeting: Regular Meeting of the City Council February 9, 1999 9 a.m. Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: In the absence of Mayor Loveridge who was in Sacramento on City business, Mayor Pro Tempore Clifford called the City Council meeting to order at 9:10 a.m., following completion of the Adjourned Regular Meeting. The Invocation was given by Councilmember Thompson. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meeting of February 2, 1999, were approved as presented. INTRODUCTIONS Mayor Pro Tempore Clifford and City Manager Holmes welcomed the delegation of educators who are visiting from Russia to study private education in the United States on the Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP). Mayor Pro Tempore Clifford acknowledged the presence in the audience of students from the California School for the Deaf. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item; with Mayor Pro Tempore Clifford requesting his vote be shown as "No" on the resolution adoption for Zoning Case CU-034-978. PLANNING COMMISSION ZONING CASE CU-060-590 (REV.) - WLY. SIDE OF WHEELER SLY. OF GARFIELD The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving subject to conditions the request of Douglas R. Shackelton, Canty Engineering Group, Inc., representing Parkview Community Hospital for a revised conditional use permit to construct an approximately 4,480-square-foot central mechanical systems building to be located within an area that is currently a small parking lot for the hospital on the westerly side of Wheeler Street southerly of Garfield Avenue. The hospital is situated on approximately 13 acres at 3865 Jackson Street, generally bounded by Jackson, Garfield, Wheeler, and Miller Streets, in Zone R-1-65.
