CITY OF RIVERSIDE CITY COUNCIL Minutes of: Date of Meeting: Time of Meeting: Place of Meeting: Regular Meeting of the City Council January 19, 1999 9 a.m. Council Chamber, City Hall Roll Call: The Invocation was given by Councilmember Moore. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meetings of January 12, 1999, were approved as presented; with a correction to Page 84-193, Variance Case VR-056-989, indicating the motion was made by Councilmember Moore and seconded by Councilmember Defenbaugh. PRESENTATION - CONTINUED The presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation to recently retired Fire Captain Bob McConnell, Public Safety Officer for the month of January 1999, who was honored by the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce at Good Morning Riverside, was continued to a later date when he is able to be in attendance. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item. CITY MANAGER YOUTH ACTION PLAN - GRANT AWARD - FUNDS TRANSFER - SUPPL. APPROPRIATION - RESOLUTION The City Council (1) authorized the Finance Director to appropriate the funds contributed by outside agencies as they are received for the Fiscal Year 1999-2000 Youth Action Plan; (2) authorized the City Manager or his designee to execute the appropriate documents to accept the Americorps Promise Fellows grant as outlined in the written staff report; (3) established a $20,000 revenue estimate in Account 101-0- 334100-13050 to receive the grant funds and appropriate $20,000 to Account 101- 111110-411100 for salaries; (4) adopted the resolution attached to the written staff report to add the following classification to the City's classification and pay plan: Americorps Promise Fellow, salary range S09A, with one step of $1,083 monthly; (5) added two Americorps Promise Fellow positions to the City Manager' s Office for the duration of grant funding; whereupon, Resolution No. 19421 of the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, Amending the Salary Resolution No. 19390 to Amend Table 1, the Salary Plan, by Adding a New Salary Range Designation as S09A; and to Amend Table 2, the Classification Plan, to Add the Following Classification, Americorps Promise Fellow, Range S09A, was presented and adopted.
