The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL The City Council excused Councilmember Beaty's absences until he recovers from injuries sustained on October 6, 1998. MINUTES The Minutes of the Meeting of October 13, 1998, were approved as presented. PRESENTATIONS Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Dieter Wirtzfeld and Jeff McLaughlin, the City's Campaign Coordinators, proclaiming Tuesday, October 20, 1998, as United Way of the Inland Valleys Campaign Kick-Off Day in the City. Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Ned Cooney, Volunteer Center, proclaiming October 25 through November 1, 1998, as Homeless Awareness Week in the City. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item. PLANNING COMMISSION TRACT MAP 28907 - CANAAN DEVELOPMENT - BRADLEY/HIGHRIDGE The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving subject to conditions the proposal of Canaan Development to divide approximately 160 primarily vacant acres into approximately 75 lots for residential purposes, situated easterly of the intersection of Bradley and Highridge Streets, in Zone RC; upheld the Commission's determination that the proposal would not have a significant effect on the environment due to mitigation measures; concurred in the adoption of a Mitigated Negative Declaration; and found that the proposed project could have the potential for adverse effects on wildlife resources and the applicant is responsible for payment of Fish and Game fees at the time the Notice of Determination is filed with the County.
