Motion X <br /> Second X <br /> All Ayes <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge announced that Councilmember Thompson is recuperating from <br />surgery. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br />Mayor Loveridge presented a Certificate of Appreciation honoring Police Detective <br />Robert Shelton, Public Safety Officer for the month of June 1998, who was honored by <br />the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce at Good Morning Riverside. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for Motion X <br />consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each Second X <br />item. All Ayes <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />BID 5577 - T-SHIRTS FOR PARK AND RECREATION PROGRAMS <br />The City Council (1) awarded Bid 5577 to Teezers, in the amount of $31,536.49, for t- <br />shirts for Park and Recreation Programs for the period July 1, 1998, through June 30, <br />1999, subject to approval of the Fiscal Year 1998-99 Budget; and (2) authorized the <br />Purchasing Services Manager to proceed by purchase order for this requirement. <br /> <br />BID 5580 - TIRES AND TUBES <br />The City Council (1) rejected the bid from Daniels Tire for Section I as being non- <br />responsive to City specifications; and (2) awarded Bid 5580 to Scher Tire for Sections I <br />and II, and Viking Auto Center, Inc., for Section III, by purchase orders, for the annual <br />requirement for tires and tubes for City vehicles for the period July 1, 1998, through <br />June 30, 1999, subject to approval of the Fiscal Year 1998-99 Budget, as being in the <br />best interest of the City. <br /> <br />RETENTION OF LABOR RELATIONS ATTORNEY <br />The City Council (1) authorized the retention of the law firm of Miller, Brown and <br />Dannis for labor relations and contract negotiations for the period July 1, 1998, through <br />June 30, 2000, as outlined in the written staff report; and (2) approved the contract <br />attached to the written staff report and authorized the City Manager or his designee to <br />execute the necessary documents. <br /> <br /> 83-347 <br /> <br /> <br />
