MINUTES The Minutes of the Meeting of May 5, 1998, were approved as presented with Motion X Councilmember Clifford abstaining as he did not attend the meeting. X PRESENTATIONS Mayor Loveridge called upon Ken Pimlot of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention who presented the Tree City USA award to the City. Mayor Loveridge called upon Mike Baldwin, Public Utilities Assistant Director, who acknowledged Russ Johnson, Substation Electrician, for his suggestion in having meter technicians perform routine checking and testing of residential meters. CONSENT CALENDAR The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for Motion X consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each Second X item. All Ayes PLANNING COMMISSION ZONING CASE CU-037-978 - 7590 CYPRESS The City Council upheld the action of the Planning Commission in approving subject to conditions the request of Rod Perry on behalf of Hamblin's Body Paint and Frame Shop for a conditional use permit to expand an automobile painting and body repair shop on approximately 1.62 acres developed with an automobile dealership, service center and auto body shop at 7590 Cypress Avenue, situated on the south side of Cypress Avenue between Van Buren Boulevard and Montgomery Street in Zone C-3; upheld the Commission's determination that the proposal would not have a significant effect on the environment; concurred in the adoption of the Negative Declaration; and found there is no evidence that the proposed project will have any potential for adverse effect on wildlife resources and the impacts of the project are found to be de minimis pursuant to Section 711.4 of the Fish and Game Code.
