Motion X <br /> Second X <br /> All Ayes <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge commented on the success of the Orange Blossom Festival this past <br />weekend and announced that the City of Riverside is one of the 30 finalists for the All <br />America City Award. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Kathy Cheney, Director of the Volunteer <br />Connection at the Volunteer Center of Greater Riverside, proclaiming the week of April <br />19-25, 1998, as Volunteer Week. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge called on Karen Rush, City Campaign Co-Coordinator, and John <br />Holmes, City Manager, who assisted in the absence of Dieter Wirtzfeld, Campaign Co- <br />Coordinator, in presenting the United Way awards to City departments. <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Mayor Loveridge introduced the Jiangmen Friendship City Delegation and exchanged <br />City flags. Mayor Loveridge called on Mayor Pro Tempore Pearson who presented <br />City pins to the Jiangmen delegation. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for Motion X <br />consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each Second X <br />item. All Ayes <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />BID 5539 - ARLINGTON AVENUE UNDERPASS AT RAILROAD CROSSING <br />The City Council (1) released Seven C's Construction, Inc., from its bid and authorized <br />the return of their bid bond without penalty; (2) awarded Bid 5539 to the second low <br />bidder, Norstar Plumbing Company, in the amount of $246,401, for the Arlington <br />Avenue Underpass at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Crossing, Phase I, for <br />the construction of sewer and storm drain systems; and (3) authorized the City Manager <br />or his designee to execute the necessary contract documents. <br /> <br />INCIDENT COMMAND VEHICLE - BID WAIVER RESOL. - SUPPL.
