Ms. Sennewald introduced Rafael <br />Guzman, Community & Economic Development Department Director. <br />There were no oral comments at this time. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />PLANNING CASE P15 -0816 — Landmark Designation — 5036 Myrtle <br />Avenue <br />Proposed historic designation by Max Loder on behalf of Matthew and <br />Hillary Pruitt, to designate the Eugene and Mildred Best House. Gaby <br />Adame, Assistant Planner, presented the staff report. Comments from the <br />audience: Max Loder, stated he did much of the work for the Best House <br />nomination. He recognized Vince and Cate Moses, Mr. and Mrs. Pruitt <br />and Nicolette Rohr for their assistance. Ms. Pruitt stated this has been an <br />enjoyable process and was looking forward to designating her home. <br />Motion <br />X <br />Following discussion the Cultural Heritage Board recommended that the <br />Second <br />X <br />City Council: 1. Determine that the P15 -0816, City Landmark designation, <br />All Ayes <br />is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act <br />(CEQA) per Sections 15061(b)(3) and 15308 of the CEQA Guidelines as <br />it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity will <br />have a significant effect on the environment, said action is intended to <br />preserve the historic character of the building and site, and to provide <br />notice of the historic status; and 2. Approve Planning Case P15 -0816, <br />based on and subject to the findings outlined in the staff report and <br />thereby the designation of the Eugene and Mildred Best House as a City <br />Landmark. <br />Approved - Cultural Heritage Board Minutes — November 18, 2015 Page 1 of 3 <br />
