W A T E R E N E R C Y I <br />RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />WI& Board Memorandum <br />P U B L I C U T I L I T I E S <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: JANUARY 22, 2016 <br />ITEM NO: 4 <br />File ID — 16 -0190 — C <br />SUBJECT: ELECTRICAL FACILITIES RELOCATION ON VAN BUREN BOULEVARD AND <br />EQUESTRIAN DRIVE - WORK ORDER NO. 1514468 FOR $128,000 <br />ISSUE: <br />The issue for the Board of Public Utilities consideration is to approve a capital expenditure in the amount <br />of $128,000 for Work Order No. 1514468 for the relocation of electrical facilities on Van Buren Boulevard <br />and Equestrian Drive. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $128,000 for Work Order <br />No. 1514468 for the relocation of electrical facilities on Van Buren Boulevard and Equestrian Drive. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The project requires the relocation of existing electrical distribution facilities to allow for the County of <br />Riverside Street Improvements Project R -4278 along Van Buren Boulevard and Equestrian Drive. The <br />work includes the installation of approximately 100 trench feet of conduit, three wooden poles, three <br />street lights, and related distribution facilities. <br />The project also includes the construction of temporary electrical facilities during the street improvements <br />construction phase of the project. Permanent installation of electrical facilities will be coordinated during <br />the last phase of the street improvements project. Outage notifications will be issued prior to any work, <br />and any resulting intermittent electric service disruptions will be coordinated with affected customers <br />during construction to minimize impact. <br />RPU engineering staff performed the design to eliminate any negative visual impacts to the project and <br />surrounding area, with sensitivity to the existing neighborhood, and within City Planning guidelines for the <br />designated area of the project. <br />The project breakdown is proposed as follows: <br />Project Breakdown <br />Engineering Performed By: <br />RPU engineering staff <br />Civil Construction Performed By: <br />Developer (County of Riverside's Contractor) <br />Electrical Work Performed By: <br />RPU field forces <br />Anticipated Start Date: <br />January 29, 2016 <br />Anticipated Duration: <br />One year <br />Coordination Required With: <br />Developer (County of Riverside) and Public Works <br />Reimbursements: <br />100% reimbursable by developer (County of Riverside <br />
