RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> 7 I L [ T j E 5 Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: November 5, 2010 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 15 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—September 2010 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total energy requirements during September 2010 were 218,925 MWh, of which 203,892 MWh were attributed to retail <br /> customer load and the remainder being sales to wholesale parties and system losses. The retail load for September <br /> 2010 was 10.7% lower than the retail energy load in September 2009 (228,391 MWh). The actual peak system demand <br /> was 576 MW, compared f actual peak system demand of 559 MW last year. Sales to wholesale parties, losses and <br /> energy returns represented 7.4% of the total energy requirement as compared to 11.5% for last year. Purchases from <br /> CAISO accounted for 8,288 MWh. Energy returns were 17,597 MWh and 5,556 MWh were attributed to losses (3.67%). <br /> Green power supplied approximately 17.5% of our retail energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 95%capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 94% capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: SONGS unit 2 &3 operated at 100% and 98% capacity factor respectively for the month. <br /> Hoover: 100% of RVSD's entitlement was met for the month. <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 81%for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Units 1 &2 availability was 95%for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 86%for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 100%capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North and the North to South lines are not operational, no ETR at this time. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied from each resource <br /> for the months of September 2009 and September 2010. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Bradley J.
