INTRODUCTIONS
2. CITIZEN'S PARTICIPATION
None
3. ANNEXATION STATUS REPORT
Currently the City of Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) has sixteen annexation areas where City of
Riverside residents are served by SCE. Five years ago the City Council's priorities were to identify
and aggressively annex these areas. During this time RPU met with SCE and began the process,
beginning with the evaluation of inventory for North Orange Street No. 95 and Two Trees No. 99.
Around the same time, impacts from AB1890 hindered further talks with SCE. Traditionally,
annexations take between 2 to 3 years; however, the Annexation team has begun the process of
working out a master agreement for all annexations and, once approved by our legal department,
the time required to address each annexation should be minimized.
Following discussion, the Electric Committee received and filed the report.
4. SUB-TRANSMISSION PROJECT UPDATE
STP is centered in the east area of the City of Riverside; this project will strengthen the eastern
side of RPU's electrical supply network. STP would primarily consist of new 69kV sections and
upgrades, which will improve the sub-transmission connection between the substations at
Riverside, La Colina, Springs, University, and several other substations. The City Council adopted
the Mitigated Negative Declaration on August 25, 2009. Since then, construction of Phase 1 has
been initiated, and should be completed in early 2011. Construction of Phase 2 is expected to be
initiated in 2011, and is expected to be completed by fall 2012.
Following Discussion, the Electric Committee received and filed the report.
5.
