RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> { , , Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: September 17, 2010 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 21 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—July 2010 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total energy requirements during July 2010 were 243,553 MWh, of which 183,579 MWh were attributed to retail <br /> customer load and the remainder being sales to wholesale parties and system losses. The retail load for July 2010 was <br /> 5.6% lower than the retail energy load in July 2009 (194,402 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 538 MW, <br /> compared to actual peak system demand of 540 MW last year. Sales to wholesale parties, losses and energy retums <br /> represented 32.7% of the total energy requirement as compared to 6.7% for last year. Sales to the ISO accounted for <br /> 41,791 MWh. Energy returns were 13,120 MWh and 5,063 MWh were attributed to losses (3.53%). Green power <br /> supplied approximately 17.7%of our retail energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 86% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 99%capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: SONGS unit 2 & 3 operated at 100%capacity factor for the month. <br /> Hoover. 10010 of RVSD's entitlement was met for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 74%for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Units 1 & 2 availability was 91% for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 86% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North line is de-rated due to repairs to damage caused by the Station Fire through <br /> 0813112010. The North to South line is fully operational. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied from each resource <br /> for the months of July 2009 and July 2010. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Bradley J.
