W A T E R I E N E R 5 Y , L I F E RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES P U B L I C U T I L I T I E S Board Memorandum BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: June 18, 2010 ITEM NO: 7 SUBJECT: CONSOLIDATION OF PROPERTY COMMITTEE AND FINANCE/MARKETING COMMITTEE ISSUE: Consideration of consolidating the Property Committee and Finance/Marketing Committee, along with all related property hearings. RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Board of Public Utilities: 1. Approve the merger of the Property Committee with the Finance/Marketing Committee; and 2. Adopt the attached revised "Standing Rules of the Board of Public Utilities of the City of Riverside". BACKGROUND: The Property Committee was established as a separate committee several years ago in connection with significant property-related concerns. The Committee initially met monthly; however, as property related issues have significantly decreased in volume, the meetings are only scheduled sporadically as required. In order to keep committee meetings efficient and productive, consolidation of the Property Committee is appropriate. In the event there is an escalation of property activity such that a separate committee is again warranted, the Property Committee could be re-established. As a result of consolidating the Property Committee into the Finance/Marketing Committee, the Standing Rules of the Public Utilities Board must be amended (see Attachment 1). Board approval was recommended by the Finance/Marketing Committee at its May 28, 2010 meeting. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. Prepared by: Reiko A.
