RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: April 2, 2010 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO. 13 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—February 2010 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total energy requirements during February 2010 were 155,245 MWh, of which 137,425 MWh were attributed to <br /> retail customer load and the remainder being sales to wholesale parties and system losses. The retail load for <br /> February 2010 was 8.2% lower than the retail energy load in February 2009. The actual peak system demand was <br /> 276 MW, compared to actual peak system demand of 289 MW last year. Sales to wholesale parties, losses and <br /> energy returns represented 13% of the total energy requirement as compared to 26.9% for last year. Sales to <br /> wholesale parties accounted for 144 MWh, and 2,468 MWh in purchases from the ISO. Energy returns were <br /> 16,424 MWh and 3,719 MWh were attributed to losses (3.71%). Green power supplied approximately 21.7% of our <br /> retail energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: 1PP units 1 and 2 operated at 82% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 100%capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: SONGS unit 3 operated at 100% capacity factor for the month. <br /> Unit 2 is on delayed outage for generator replacement through 3/30/2010 (ETR was 1/2712010). <br /> Hoover: Hoover operated at 59%availability for the month due to low water elevation in Lake Mead and <br /> various scheduled unit maintenances. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 79%for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Unit 1 availability was 0%for the month due to turbine overhaul through 511412010. <br /> RERC Unit 2 availability was 98%for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 84% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The line was de-rated due to repairs to damage caused by the Station Fire through 4/01/2010. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied from each <br /> resource for the months of February 2009 and February 2010. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Bradley J.
