RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: March 19, 2010 <br /> ITEM NO: 6 <br /> SUBJECT: CABLE INSTALLATION FOR CIRCJIT 1533 FEEDER LOAD RELIEF PROJECT <br /> WORK ORDER NO. 1024754 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> Board of Public Utilities approval is requested for Work Order 1020754 in the amount of$370,466.94. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $370,466.94 to install a <br /> new underground feeder from the Orangecrest Substation up Alessandro Boulevard and along Overlook <br /> Parkway through existing substructures where it will tie into Circuit 1551. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Due to excessive loading on Circuit 1551, the availability to offer relief to neighboring circuits during <br /> abnormal operating contingencies is eliminated. This r ew feeder circuit will provide relief to Circuit 1551 <br /> and will provide spare capacity to be used during contingencies. This project is consistent with Electric <br /> System Master Plan, by creating a new feeder to relievo Circuit 1551. <br /> The capital expenditure for the project is estimated to be $370,466.94 and includes all construction, <br /> contingencies, construction management, inspection and design. Construction consists of installing 12 <br /> kV cables and equipment in existing infrastructure with no impacts to existing streets or right-of-way. <br /> Engineering was performed by Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) and electrical work will be performed by <br /> RPU field forces. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The total project cost is estimated at $370,466.94. Funds are budgeted and available for this project in <br /> the Major Feeders Account No. 6130000-474633. <br /> Prepared by: Stephen H.
