RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> M3Board Memorandum <br /> P U B L I C U T I L I T I E S <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: February 19, 2010 <br /> ITEM NO: 8 <br /> SUBJECT: OVERHEAD TO UNDERGROUND CONVERSION FOR THE EVANS RESERVOIR <br /> REPLACEMENT PROJECT ON CRANFORD AVENUE - WORK ORDER NO. <br /> 100012-02 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> Board Approval is requested for Work Order 100012-02. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $260,000 to install <br /> underground structures on Cranford between Seventh and Linden Streets. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Water Division is improving the Evans Reservoir Facilities along Cranford Avenue and Linden <br /> Street. As a result, electrical overhead facilities will be converted to underground facilities. The project <br /> consists of undergrounding the existing overhead feeder between Seventh and Linden Streets along <br /> Cranford Avenue. This includes the trenching of approximately 801 feet along Cranford Avenue, <br /> installation of conduits and structures, as well as overhead removals <br /> The electrical engineering was performed by Riverside Public Utilities (RPU). All civil work including <br /> trenching, conduits, vaults and other infrastructure work will be performed by a contractor through the <br /> competitive bid process.
