i I I N G X {I Y 11 I f <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> P U B L I C U T I I. 17 I E 5 <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: February 19, 2010 <br /> ITEM NO: 6 <br /> SUBJECT: CIRCUIT 46 VOLTAGE CONVERSION PROJECT -WORK ORDER NO. 100004-06 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> Staff is requesting Board of Public Utilities approval for Work Order No. 100004-06. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $100,000 to install <br /> approximately 2000 feet of underground cable and convert approximately 900 kW of commercial bad <br /> from 4 kV to 12 kV along Arlington Avenue between Maude Street and San Diego Avenue, <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Electrical Planning Division has identified the potential of overloading on an existing 4 kV distribution <br /> circuit, located along Arlington Avenue between Maude Street and San Diego Avenue, by the summer <br /> 2010 due to added electrical load and customers. This project will convert a portion of existing 4 kV <br /> distribution system to higher capacity 12 kV system. This project is part of the on-going capital <br /> improvement converting the older 4 kV system to the 12 kV system. <br /> Engineering was performed by staff and construction will be performed by either Utility staff or by <br /> contractors using the Utility Contractor's panel, <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The total project cost is estimated at $100,000. Funds are budgeted and available for this project in the <br /> Major 4-12 kV Conversions Account No. 6130000-470644. <br /> Prepared by: Stephen H.
