RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> P U B L 1 C U T I L I T I E S Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: December 2, 2011 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 14 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—October 2011 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including losses) during October 2011 were 199,021 MWh and 12,641 MWh of <br /> purchases from the CAISO, of which 186,380 MWh were provided by our resources and purchases. The <br /> retail customer load for October 2011 (191,595 MWh) was 0.8% lower than the retail customer load in <br /> October 2410 (193,213 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 453 MW, compared to actual peak <br /> system demand of 420 MW last year. Energy returns were 2,880 MWh and 4,546 MWh were attributed <br /> to losses (3.38%). Green power supplied approximately 21.29% of our retail energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 91.51% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 71.18% capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 99.95% and 99.85% capacity factor respectively for the <br /> month. <br /> Hoover: 93.85% of RVSD's monthly entitlement was met. <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 100%for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 85.27% for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 91.85% for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 88.36% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (ETR 12131/2012) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of October 2010 and October 2011. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
