W h t E R E n f R G Y L E f f <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> P U B L I C U T I L I T I E S Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: November 4, 2011 <br /> ITEM NO: 3 <br /> SUBJECT: CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 TO PURCHASE ORDER NO. 116165 CONDUIT AND <br /> STRUCTURES INSTALLATION FOR SWITCH IN V-2725 AT CAMPUS DRIVE AND <br /> CANYON PARK DRIVE -WORK ORDER NO. 1117665 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> Board of Public Utilities approval is requested for Change Order No. 2 to Purchase Order No. 116165, in <br /> the amount of$1,113.53 for additional paving due to field conditions. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve Change Order No. 2 to Purchase Order No. 116165 in the <br /> amount of$1,113.53. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Work Order No. 1117665 for conduit and structures installation for switch in V-2725 at Campus Drive and <br /> Canyon Park Drive was approved by the Board of Public Utilities on June 3, 2011 for an estimated <br /> capital expenditure of $250,000. The conduit and substructure portion of the project was issued to the <br /> Contractors' Panel for Energy Delivery Work on May 17, 2011. Bids were opened on June 16, 2011 and <br /> Asplundh Construction Corp., of VV'illow Gave, Pennsylvania, was the lowest responsive bidder in the <br /> amount of$70,844. <br /> Change Order No. 1, in the amount of $7,084.40 was issued on September 26, 2011 for additional <br /> potholing, extra concrete and paving work. <br /> Change Order No. 2, in the amount of $1,113.53 is requested due to additional paving required due to <br /> field conditions. <br /> Board authorization is required as the cumulative change order amount exceeds 10% of the original <br /> purchase order amount as summarized in the following table: <br /> Percent <br /> Description Amount Change <br /> Original purchase order $70,844.00 <br /> Change order No. 1 $7,084.40 10.00% <br /> Change order No. 2 $1,113.53 1.57% <br /> Total $799042.93 11.57% <br /> No further change orders are anticipated as the work is complete. <br />
