W A F E R E N F R 4 Y <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> P U B L I C U I I L 1 T I E S <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: August 19, 2011 <br /> ITEM NO: 3 <br /> SUBJECT: CIRCUIT 63 PARTIAL 4 kV TO 12 kV CONVERSION -WORK ORDER NO. 1104420 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> Board of Public Utilities approval is requested for Work Order No. 1104420. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of$86,000 for the partial 4 kV <br /> to 12 kV conversion of Circuit 63, which includes installation of a switch, transformers, and other <br /> overhead facilities along Arlington Avenue to help meet summer loading conditions. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> This partial conversion project for Circuit 63 will require the replacement of various overhead utilities and <br /> the installation of switching equipment to relieve possible overload conditions for the summer. The <br /> proposed project involves the placement of two overhead capacitor banks, the installation of one <br /> overhead switch, and seven transformers. <br /> The engineering was performed by Public Utility staff and the work will be performed by Public Utility field <br /> forces. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The total estimated cost far Work Order No. 1104420 is $86,000. Funds are budgeted and available for <br /> this project in the Major 4-12 Conversion Account No. 6130000-470644. <br /> Prepared by: Stephen H.
