July 1, 2011 <br /> ITEM NO: 3 <br /> SUBJECT: CONDUIT AND STRUCTURE INSTALLATION ALONG OVERLOOK PARKWAY <br /> FOR SUMMER LOAD RELIEF -WORK ORDER NO. 1104085 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> Board of Public Utilities approval is requested for Work Order No. 1104085, <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $116,000 for Work Order <br /> No. 1104085 to place a switch, conduits, and substructures on Overlook Parkway which will assist in <br /> summer loading conditions. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> This load relief project for Overlook Parkway will require the placement of various underground utilities <br /> and the installation of switching equipment to improve reliability for summer 2011. The proposed project <br /> involves the installation of 2000 feet of underground cable, installation of one pad-mounted switch with <br /> enclosure (PS E), and the installation of 1000 feet of conduit. The pad-mounted switch with enclosure will <br /> be installed with consideration given to the surrounding esthetics. <br /> The electrical engineering was performed by Riverside Public Utilities (RPU). Electrical work will be <br /> performed by contract and RPU field forces. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The total estimated cost for Work ❑rder No. 1104085 is $116,000. f=unds are budgeted and available for <br /> the underground construction portion of this project in the Line Rebuilds Account No. 6130000-470503. <br /> Prepared by: Stephen H.
