W A I E R E N E R G v • i i } r' RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES W& Board Memorandum PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: June 3, 2011 DIRECTOR'S REPORT ITEM NO: 18 SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—April 2011 POWER USAGE Total load requirements during April 2011 were 192,341 MWh, of which 165,242 MWh were provided by our resources (including 783 MWh from RERC Unit 3 and 414 MWh from RERC Unit 4), and 27,099 MWh from purchases from the CAISO. The retail customer load for April 2011 (155,295 MWh) was 2.2% higher than the retail customer load in April 2010 (152,016 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 339 MW, compared to actual peak system demand of 285 MW last year. Energy returns were 5,451 MWh and 2,605 MWh were attributed to losses (2.90%). Green power supplied approximately 11.18% of our retail energy requirements. The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: UNIT OPERATION IPP: 1PP units 1 and 2 operated at 49% capacity factor for the month. PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 70% capacity factor for the month. SONGS: SONGS unit 2 & 3 operated at 100% capacity factor respectively for the month. Hoover: 94% of RVSD's entitlement was met for the month. Clearwater; Clearwater's availability was 86% for the month. RERC: RERC Units 1 & 2 availability was 99%for the month. RERC Units 3 &4 are in the process of being commissioned and are in testing mode. Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 100%for the month. Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 51% capacity factor for the month. TRANSMISSION: Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (ETR 1013112012) and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW.
