Approve the capital expenditure of $1,381,000 for Work Order No. 0909965, which includes all <br /> design, construction, change order contingencies, construction management and inspection for the <br /> Flume Well No. 7 Project, Bid No. 6939; and <br /> 2. Award a contract for the construction of the Flume Well No. 7 Project, Bid No. 6939, to the lowest <br /> responsive bidder, Cora Constructors, Inc., of Palm Desert, Cal ifomia,in the amount of$1,059,890. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> In order to increase water supply to meet the City's growing water demand, and better utilize the capacity of <br /> the recently constructed John W. North Treatment Plant, the City of Riverside Public Utilities plans to <br /> construct a new water well. The project consists of drilling a domestic water well approximately 450 feet <br /> deep, equipping the well, and constructing a building and appurtenant piping. The project is located on City <br /> owned property near the Santa Ana River at the end of Washington Street in the City of Colton as shown on <br /> the attached site map. <br /> Bids were opened on April 26,2011. Staff has determined that the lowest and responsive bid was submitted <br /> by Cora Constructors, Inc., of Palm Desert, California. Staff has reviewed all provided documentation and <br /> has determined that Cora Constructors, Inc. has met all of the requirements of the specifications. <br /> The bids received are summarized as follows: <br /> COMPANY CITY LOCATION BID TOTAL <br /> 1.
