I-, I <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> P U B L I C U T I L I T I E S <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: March 18, 2011 <br /> ITEM NO: 3 <br /> SUBJECT: CONDUIT AND STRUCTURE INSTALLATION ALONG REMINGTON DRIVE DUE <br /> TO AN ELECTRICAL CABLE FAILURE -WORK ORDER NO. 1105831 <br /> ISSUE: <br /> Board of Public Utilities approval is requested for Work Order No. 1105831. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the Board of Public Utilities approve the estimated capital expenditure of $186,900 for Work Order <br /> No. 1105831. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The cable replacement project for Remington Drive replaces failed high voltage cable in conduit (CIC) <br /> with new cables, conduits, and underground structures. This installation includes: <br /> • the placement of 3500 feet of underground cable; <br /> • the retrofitting of 1 pull box into a pad mounted junction cabinet (PJC); and <br /> • the installation of 2600 feet of conduit. <br /> The electrical engineering was performed by Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) staff. Electrical work will be <br /> performed by a contractor and RPU field forces. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> The total estimated cost for Work Order No. 1105831 is $186,900. Funds are budgeted and available for <br /> the underground construction portion of this project in the Line Rebuilds Account No. 6130000-470635. <br /> Prepared by: Stephen H.
