G Y I I F F -- RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES P U B L I C U T I L I T I E S Board Memorandum BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: February 4,2011 DIRECTOR'S REPORT ITEM NO: 15 SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT— December 2010 POWER USAGE Total load requirements during December 2010 were 181,225 MWh, of which 169,911 MWh were provided by our resources and 11,314 MWh from purchases from the CAISO. The purchases from the CAISO were due the system constraints from the IPP resource. The retail customer load for December 2010 (158,810 MWh) was 1.2% higher than the retail customer load in December 2009 (156,913 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 294 MW, compared to actual peak system demand of 296 MW last year. Energy returns were 18,787 MWh and 3,627 MWh were attributed to losses (3.63%). Green power supplied approximately 22.5% of our retail energy requirements. The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: UNIT OPERATION IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 69% capacity factor for the month. PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 100% capacity factor for the month. SONGS: SONGS unit 2 & 3 operated at 100% and 0% capacity factor respectively for the month. Hoover: 100%of RVSD's entitlement was met for the month. Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 33%for the month. RERC: RERC Units 1 &2 availability was 99% for the month. Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 95% for the month. Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 98% capacity factor for the month. TRANSMISSION: Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW(No ETR at this time)and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW.
