A t A 1 W s R G Y f ( P f <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> P U 3 L I C UTILITIES <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: January 21, 2011 <br /> ITEM NO: 19 <br /> SUBJECT: WATER HIGHLIGHTS-- December 2010 <br /> Domestic water production for the month of December 2010, totaled 3,649 acre feet('1,189 million gallons), <br /> with the following resource mix: <br /> • Bunker Hill Basin: 91% <br /> • Riverside Basin. 9% <br /> • Purchased Water: 0% <br /> Peak water usage for the month of December 2010,was 50.3 million gallons per day(mgd)and occurred on <br /> December 1 st. <br /> Under the Cooperative Agreement for Water Production and Conveyance with Western Municipal Water <br /> District, 392.3 of potable water and 34.6 AF of irrigation water were delivered to WMWD. 21.5 AF were sold <br /> to the Home Gardens Community Services District. <br /> The significant events for the water system in December 2010. During extreme rain events, a significant <br /> portion of the Gage Pipe ine was found to be unsafe to operate (exposed high pressure natural gas lines), <br /> and removed from service until repairs can be made. At this time, this bears little impact to our ability to serve <br /> the city. Also due to unanticipated and unpreventable run-off loading of the canal from the rains, numerous <br /> portions of our concrete canals were rendered inoperable. A limited stretch is still unscathed and currently in <br /> service, and will remain so until repairs are made.
