RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> P U $ t r r U T 1 ! l i 1 F Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: January 7, 2011 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 14 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT— November 2010 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements during November 2010 were 179,521 MWh, of which 167,996 MWh were <br /> provided by our resources and 11,525 MWh from purchases from the CAISO. The purchases from the <br /> CA1SO were due the system constraints from the SPA resource. The retail customer load for November <br /> 2010 (151,588 MWh) was 4.0% lower than the retail customer load in November 2009 (157,932 MWh). <br /> The actual peak system demand was 368 MW, compared to actual peak system demand of 317 MW last <br /> year. Energy returns were 26,044 MWh and 1,889 MWh were attributed to losses (3.19%). Green <br /> power supplied approximately 30.23% of our retail energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 33% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 81% capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: SONGS unit 2 & 3 operated at 100% and 0% capacity factor respectively for the month. <br /> Hoover: 98% of RVSD's entitlement was met for the month. <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 78% for the month. <br /> RERC: RE RC Units 1 & 2 availability was 100% for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 96% for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 99% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (No ETR at this time) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of November 2009 and November 2010. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Bradley J.
