RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES P U $ t r r U T 1 ! l i 1 F Board Memorandum BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: January 7, 2011 DIRECTOR'S REPORT ITEM NO: 14 SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT— November 2010 POWER USAGE Total load requirements during November 2010 were 179,521 MWh, of which 167,996 MWh were provided by our resources and 11,525 MWh from purchases from the CAISO. The purchases from the CA1SO were due the system constraints from the SPA resource. The retail customer load for November 2010 (151,588 MWh) was 4.0% lower than the retail customer load in November 2009 (157,932 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 368 MW, compared to actual peak system demand of 317 MW last year. Energy returns were 26,044 MWh and 1,889 MWh were attributed to losses (3.19%). Green power supplied approximately 30.23% of our retail energy requirements. The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: UNIT OPERATION IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 33% capacity factor for the month. PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 81% capacity factor for the month. SONGS: SONGS unit 2 & 3 operated at 100% and 0% capacity factor respectively for the month. Hoover: 98% of RVSD's entitlement was met for the month. Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 78% for the month. RERC: RE RC Units 1 & 2 availability was 100% for the month. Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 96% for the month. Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 99% capacity factor for the month. TRANSMISSION: Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (No ETR at this time) and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW.
