W A T E R E N E R G Y L I F E <br /> EaRIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> P U B L I C U T I L I T I E S Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: December 7, 2012 <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 15 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—October 2012 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including losses) during October 2012 were 214,747 MWh and 84,985 MWh of <br /> purchases from the CAISO, of which 129,762 MWh were provided by our resources and other <br /> purchases. The retail customer load for October 2012 (206,183 MWh) was 7.6% higher than the retail <br /> customer load in October 2011 (191,595 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 547 MW, <br /> compared to actual peak system demand of 453 MW last year. Energy returns were 4,160 MWh and <br /> 4,404 MWh were attributed to losses (4.39%). Green power supplied approximately 9.27% of our retail <br /> energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> PP: I PP units 1 and 2 operated at 86.97% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 60.33% capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 0% capacity factor for the month. <br /> Hoover: 79.53% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule (dated <br /> 5114112). <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 100% for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4) availability was 100% for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 100% for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 54.58% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (ETR 1213112012) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of October 2011 and October 2012. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
