W A I E R E N E R G Y 1. 1 F E <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> B Memorandum <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES � � <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: November 2, 2012 <br /> GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 16 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—September 2012 <br /> POWER USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including losses) during September 2012 were 240,965 MWh and 51,673 MWh <br /> of purchases from the CAISO, of which 169,112 MWh were provided by our resources and other <br /> purchases. The retail customer load for September 2012 (231,O69 MWh)was 7.1% higher than the retail <br /> customer load in September 2011 (215,767 MWh). The actual peak system demand was 543 MW, <br /> compared to actual peak system demand of 561 MW last year. Energy returns were 5,120 MWh and <br /> 3,795 MWh were attributed to losses (4.35%). Green power supplied approximately 9.75% of our retail <br /> energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 71.47% capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 95.9% capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 0% capacity factor for the month. <br /> Hoover: 66.36% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule (dated <br /> 6/15111). <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 99.31%far the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1, 2, 3 and 4) availability was 97%for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 100%for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 57.23% capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW (ETR 12131/2012) <br /> and the North to South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied <br /> from each resource for the months of September 2011 and September 2012. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
