Forty percent of the entire load on Circuit 455, or approximately 1
megawatt (MW), is served by this switch. The proposed project involves the installation of 799 feet of
conduit, 2,489 feet of underground cable, one padmounted switch with enclosure (PSE), one
padmounted junction cabinet (PJC), and one commercial subsurface transformer enclosure (CST). The
relocated structures were designed with consideration given to the surrounding aesthetics, minimizing
the number of above ground structures (Attachment 1).
Engineering was performed by Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) staff and electrical work will be performed
by RPU field forces. Civil construction will be performed by contract crews from the RPU Contractor's
Panel.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The capital expenditure for Work Order No. 1202014 is estimated to be $172,000 and is detailed as
follows:
% of
Total
Design, Construction Management, Inspection $56,600 33%
Construction Contract-Conduits & Substructures $51,000 30%
Contingency $5,100 3%
Construction RPU Field Forces $55,300 32%
Easement $3,000 2%
Total $172,004 100%
Sufficient funds are available in the Electric Capital Account No. 6130000-470603.
