W ATE R E N E R G Y t 'i <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> >' u 6 L I C U T I L IT I E 5 Board Memorandum <br /> BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: October 5, 2012 <br /> GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> ITEM NO: 14 <br /> SUBJECT: MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT—Aunust 2012 <br /> Pmt WER_USAGE <br /> Total load requirements (including losses) during August 2012 were 234,860 MWh and 24,398 MWh of purchases from <br /> the CA1SO, of which 210,462 MWh were provided by our resources and other purchases. The retail customer load for <br /> August 2012 (230,929 MWh)was 5.8% higher than the retail customer load in August 2011 (218,187 MWh). The actual <br /> peak system demand was 592 MW, compared to actual peak system demand of 553 MW last year. Energy returns were <br /> 0 MWh and 3,896 MWh were attributed to losses (4.4%). Green power supplied approximately 10.28% of our retail <br /> energy requirements. <br /> The City's generation resources were available during the month as follows: <br /> UNIT OPERATION <br /> IPP: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 67.55°/ capacity factor for the month. <br /> PVNGS: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 92.29%capacity factor for the month. <br /> SONGS: Both SONGS units 2 and 3 operated at 0%capacity factor for the month. <br /> Hoover: 92.99% of RVSD's entitlement was met as compared to WAPA's Master Schedule(dated 6116111). <br /> Clearwater: Clearwater's availability was 94.62%for the month. <br /> RERC: RERC Station (Units 1,2,3 and 4)availability was 97.96%for the month. <br /> Springs: Springs units 1, 2, 3 and 4 availability was 98.86%for the month. <br /> Salton Sea: The Salton Sea units operated at 68.48%capacity factor for the month. <br /> TRANSMISSION: <br /> Pacific DC: The South to North transmission line is currently derated to 975 MW(ETR 1213112012) and the North to <br /> South transmission line is operational at 2,990 MW. <br /> Attached are the charts of daily peaks and the graphical comparison of demand and energy supplied from each resource <br /> for the months of August 2011 and August 2012. <br /> AA <br /> Attachments <br /> cc: Scott C.
